Approximately 10,000 children in Texas were removed in 2022 from unsafe conditions, some temporarily and some permanently, as reported by Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. These children leave with only the clothes on their backs. It is a traumatic experience for these children. The purpose of this ministry is to provide them with an age appropriate soft, warm, flannel blanket to call their own, their “Trauma Blanket”. The Child Protective Services representative will give them the Blanket immediately upon removal from the home.
